Some colleges will be increasing their aid budgets to attract students!!

While we are all concerned with the increasing costs of college and what appears to be shrinking endowments and more competition for private scholarship dollars, the New York Times had an article currently that colleges are expanding their aid to students, often while budget cuts are occurring in other parts of the college. While I understand the need to attract, enroll and retain students is important to the survival of any institution, if cuts are made that threaten the infrastructure of the college, thereby providing less quality and/or less services to students, won't the educational experience of these students be sacrificed as well? Food for thought!!!
