FAFSA worksheets are on the way!!!

FAFSA on the web worksheets for the 2009-2010 academic year will be available in mid-December according to the federal government. While they are usually available sometime in November, there are so many regulatory changes for the 2009-2010 year, it is not a surprise that there is a delay in their arrival. However, even though the worksheets will be available for work to begin on the FAFSA, the actual FAFSA for the 2009-2010 academic year will not be available for online completion until January 1, 2009!!

I would encourage parents and students to get a 2009-2010 FAFSA worksheet as soon as they are available and start completing the worksheet with as much information as possible. The income data may require a bit more time and you might be waiting for the last pay stubs or statements of the year, but the basic identification and demographic information can be completed on the worksheet, so that it is ready for submission any time after 1/1/09!
